These terms are here simply to explain how The Life Recording Company works so everyone knows what to expect. By booking and/or attending an interview, you’re agreeing to the following.

1. What the service includes

The Life Recording Company records people telling their life stories in-person and audio-only, and then turns those stories into a short audio piece with original music.

Each session includes:

• An in‑person, audio‑only interview (minimum 1 hour, usually 1–2 hours)
• A full audio recording of the interview
• A 15‑minute edited Life Recording made from interview excerpts and original music

You’ll receive both files by email within about 14 days of the interview. They’ll be hosted on an unlisted webpage where you can stream or download them. You will be emailed a link.

The two‑week timeline applies to each interview. If you schedule multiple interviews, delivery time may extend accordingly. For example, two interviews may take up to four weeks for delivery.

2. A quick note about the nature of the interviews

These interviews are creative and biographical conversations. They’re meant to capture someone’s memories and experiences. They are not therapy, counseling, or mental‑health services.

Occasionally conversations can become emotional, which is completely normal when people talk about their lives. If something comes up that's outside the scope of the interview, the interviewer may pause or end the session.

3. Interview environment

Good audio requires a quiet and comfortable environment.

Please avoid:

• barking or noisy pets
• jangly jewelry or background noise
• interruptions from other people

Pets may need to be in another room during recording.
